(from March to March)

Rules

Rules for “The Great TB March (from March to March)

  1. Trackables are eligible for the race under the following requirements:

    1. A maximum of 2 trackables per owner may race.

    2. All racing trackables must be activated at geocaching.com, have 0 miles and 0 log entries before being dropped into the appropriate launch event.

    3. Each racing trackable's page at geocaching.com should have a clear photo of the item as the default image, information about the trackable's participation in this race, and the race website URL.

    4. All racing trackables must be present at the starting line photo opportunity at the appropriate launch event.

  2. The race begins at 12:00 noon on March 5, 2016 and ends at 12:00 noon on March 5, 2017.

  3. Shortly after the end of the race, mostly inconsequential prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the following categories: most miles traveled; highest number of US states / territories visited; highest number of countries visited; total number of adventure points; quickest disappearance after one post-launch log.

  4. The 50 US states, District of Columbia, and 5 US territories (American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands) will all count as US “states” for a total of 56.

  5. Territories of nations will count as the controlling nation. For example, a visit to the Caribbean island of Saint Martin will count as a visit to either the Netherlands or France depending upon which half of the island is logged.

  6. An official Great TB March laminated tag will be provided for each racer. (To make a replacement tag, click on the "tag" menu item above.)

  7. Travel by mail, foul play, sneakiness or your airline pilot uncle is prohibited.

  8. No moving your own entered racers after launch, and no impeding competing racers either.

  9. A racer will be considered missing if reported as such by an impartial cache owner or logged visit. A proxy replacement can be relaunched and rejoin the race, but its initial relaunch log must be within 2 miles of its original launch event location, and the distance between the last verified location and the restart location will be subtracted for the racer's official mileage. The restart does not disqualify the racer from the “quickest disappearance” consolation prize.

  10. All race participants must be in it just for fun; no complaining or whining allowed. In the case of unusual circumstances the rulings of the race directors (The WBs and Itzzie) will be final.
